I’m
not at all impressed with the takedowns of Eason Jordan and Jeff
Gannon. Say what you want, whether you were right or wrong, flushing
out a mole in the press corps or simply pressuring for the truth, I
really do. Not. Care. The bottom line is this: two guys are out looking
for work today. Sure, they probably won’t be out of a job for long and
I certainly hope they find gigs that make good use of their respective
talents, but screwing with someone’s career is simply disgusting.
I won’t insult lynch mobs by making that comparison. I have another comparison in mind: more like Todd Bertuzzi on Steve Moore.
Bertuzzi is a hell of a player and I admire him, but if Moore can never
again lace up his skates because of that attack, then my feeling is
that Bertuzzi should be banned from the NHL (not that there’s much
going on in the NHL right now). That’s how I feel in general about
folks who, intentionally or not, ruin other people’s chance to make a
living. It doesn’t matter how prestigious they may be, they’re no
better than scum once they cross that line.
Though it wouldn’t
be missed, I did give some thought about letting this blog die. That’s
just how disgusted I am. However, I believe that this blog can be more
than what the popular perception of blogs is today. As such, this will
be the last post dealing with politics on this blog. I’m pretty much
convinced that politics is bullshit, through and through. A cursory
glance today on the political blogs I frequent only supported this
belief.
I’m also giving some serious thought to flushing the
Politics blogroll and just dropping every political feed from my
aggregator. Though I’m not ready to pull the trigger on that, that
option is on the table.
It has often been said that you reap what you sow. Take steps for a bountiful harvest. Get me?
