Most folks know that I can be found on Twitter and it’s thanks to Twitter (and Neil Gaiman) that I discovered Zoe Keating.
Zoe plays two instruments: a cello and a 8-bank foot pedal, piped into a MacBook Pro. Basically, she layers tracks recorded on the cello, creating a mechanized ensemble of cellists. And she’s not playing Bach’s Air 8 times over either; it’s very fresh, very original. Don’t believe me? Well, just tune in below (Facebook friends might have to visit the blog to see the player):
