There’s no telling what could happen in 15 years. I have no idea how long the current CBA lasts, but it can’t be more than 10 years. Meanwhile, this deal counts against the cap over a loooong time, meaning it could hamper their efforts to go and out get some goal scorers.

Never mind what would happen if he got hurt or didn’t live up to the potential. Such a lock-in can’t look good to his backup, the other goalies in the Islander system and other netminders around the league.

Yep, a lot of reasons why this stinks.
